Energy NL, with support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology (IET), is organizing an Atlantic Canada trade mission to Guyana during the week of November 28, 2022. 

Participation is open to Atlantic Canadian firms and organizations and is subject to capacity limitations. 

Mission Program Overview 

According to the World Bank, Guyana remains one of the fastest growing nations in the world, with an economy that is projected to expand by a massive 49.7 per cent this year. As such, opportunities for Atlantic Canadian companies are immense. In keeping with Energy NL’s new mission and strategic objectives, activities will focus on multiple business sectors including renewable and non-renewable energy, cleantech/oceantech, digitalization and infrastructure. 

DAI has been contracted to provide matchmaking and business support to companies participating in this mission. DAI works directly with Guyanese suppliers and manages the Centre for Local Business Development in Georgetown. 

Activities will include: 

• Pre-mission
- Information sessions
- One-on-one market readiness support from DAI 

• In-market
- Seminar
- B2B matchmaking services
- Networking events
- Site visits
- Ground transportation 

How to participate:
• Indicate your interest by registering online by October 14, 2022
• Participating companies will be selected by October 21, 2022

If you are selected to participate:
• There is a mission fee of $750 per firm;
• Participants will begin discussions and planning with DAI
• Travel costs are the responsibility of the participants
• A block of rooms will be available at the Guyana Marriott Hotel Georgetown
• A travel subsidy from IET may be available for eligible NL participants.
